7/10 How to Roll . . .

Sorry for my delay, I've been sick, busy, and everything in between. Needless to say, my couponing has suffered. This week I jumped right back into it and found some amazing deals, and some you don't even need a coupon to make the deal sweet! It is all about rolling this week. Rolling is where you use extra bucks (or rewards from Walgreens) from one purchase on your next and then receive more extra bucks and do the process over again.

So as you can see I got quite a bit of stuff!
I spent $17.96 out of pocket, saved $51.20 which is 74% savings on $69.17 worth of merchandise!
Plus, I made $7.99 in Extra Bucks at CVS and still have $4.00 in Register rewards from Walgreens, giving me $11.99 back to use for next week!

 Walgreens
My favorite purchase was the "W" brand 6-blade razors on sale for $3.99, then after you purchase these you get $4.00 in register rewards back :) which you can then use on my second favorite purchase:

EOS lip spheres! I've been obsessed with these since I saw a friend use one last summer. These are adorable!!! However, they sell for $2.96 at Walmart and never have coupons and that is far too pricey for lip balm. BUT this week they are on sale 2/$6 at Walgreens and are also rewarding you $4.00 when you buy 2, which makes these about $1.00 each after rewards. So I used my $4.00 reward from my first transaction on the razors to purchase the lip balms for $2.56 (2/$6-$4RR+tax) and then got another $4.00 register reward that I can use on whatever I want! I feel like a hoarder because I bought one of each flavor!
I also bought a legal pad for $0.39 to keep track of couponing lists (these are normally $0.99 at Walgreens but there is a coupon in their ad this week).
CVS
Contact solution was $7.99 at CVS and then I received $7.99 back in Extra bucks! Can never have enough contact solution. Other great find was the Elnett hairspray again, marked down to $3.96! I have a $3.00 Manufacture's coupon which made this $15.00 hairspray only $0.96 cents! Clearance + coupons is a great way to save! Arizona iced tea is B1G1 free, so of course I had to stock up, $0.50 a can is a great deal. The peanuts were from a raincheck I got a few weeks back when they were 2/$5 so I threw those in the cart.

So head on down to Walgreens for some free razors and lip balm and swing by CVS for some iced tea!
Happy Shopping!

Other great places to save!

So this past weekend I journeyed to my local Savers thrift store and found some amazing shoes. For all of my friends out in the healthcare field, I just wanted to brag that I found Sanitas aka Danskos. They are those amazing clogs we all wear!

Well I found a barely used pair for $15.00!!!!
These retail anywhere from $80.00-$140.00

While I may not have had a coupon for my shoes, I got them at a stellar price and they were hardly worn.

So next time you see a thrift store, don't be afraid to stop, you never know what little pot of gold might be waiting for you!

CVS amazing Extra Bucks!

Today I went to CVS, it was a small trip but a successful one!

Garnier cleansing towelettes $5.00 each, used 3 $2.00 off coupons making it 3/$9.00 but to get the deal even sweeter I received $5.00 in extra bucks from my purchase! Making these $1.33 each after extra bucks!

The Pantene shampoo/conditioner was 2/$6.97, used the $3.00/2 coupon from this past Sunday's paper, then received 2EB making this 2/$1.97!

Elnett hairspray is always getting rave reviews but I am too cheap to shell out $12.00+ for it. Well today my CVS had it on clearance for $7.89! I had a $3.00 off manufacturers coupon which made this less than $5.00! There is a coupon on target.com right now that you can use as well.

The toothpaste was $2.79 and I had a $0.75 off coupon, but combined with the $2.00 extra bucks I got back it was only $0.04! I really love Colgate total toothpaste, especially when it's cheap!

So many of you are wondering, what is this extra bucks nonsense?
Well each week CVS has certain items that will reward you extra bucks. They print at the bottom of the receipt and you can use them like cash next time you are at CVS!

So for this week I made $11.00 in extra bucks
2 for each toothpaste, 4 total
2 from Pantene
5 from garnier

I had $12 left from last week so here is how I purchased my items
Transaction #1
Pantene $6.97
Colgate $2.79
Colgate $2.79
-$3.00 Pantene coupon
-$1.50 Colgate coupons
-$7.00 extra bucks
Tax $1.17
Subtotal $1.05
Total $2.22
And $6 in extra bucks printed on my receipt!

Transaction #2
3 Garnier towelettes 3/$15.00
1 Elnett hairspray $7.89
-6.00 Garnier coupons
-$3.00 Elnett coupon
-$11.00 in extra bucks
Tax $1.66
Subtotal $2.89
Total $4.55
And $5.00 extra bucks printed on my receipt!

So make those extra bucks work for you!
I only spent $6.77 out of pocket just by putting my extra bucks to work! And still have $5.00 for next week!
Retail at CVS for all of this would have been $54.45, yikes!
I saved $47.68 which is 88%

I hope this helps you see that you don't always need coupons to save money. Get an extra care card at CVS and you will be on you way to some extra bucks!

Where to find coupons

Whenever I tell people I love to use coupons the first thing they ask me is
“Where do you get them?”
Well, I subscribe to my local newspaper, so I receive inserts every Sunday.
However, there are some great online resources as well

Extreme Couponing TLC Reality Series

So TLC has renewed “Extreme Couponing” for another season. I’m sure many of you have watched it and thought wow, can I really save that much money? Well, the simple answer is NO this is TV people. I love coupons, and I love a great deal, but I don’t love creating “extreme” mayhem at the grocery store. I do not save 99% on every transaction that I do.  Some of the people featured on this show are hoarders. Have any of you seen that reality series? It’s scary. Anyways, I just wanted to put a disclaimer out that I will not teach you how to “extreme coupon” like the TV show.  What do you guys think of the show?

Got Allergies?

Here is a great high value coupon for Zyrtec

Beginners couponing at Target/How to “Stack” coupons

Target is one of my favorite places to coupon! Not only does Target have stellar deals, but you can stack Target coupons with Manufactures coupons. A lot of you might not know about stacking, but in essence stacking is when you can use two coupons, one from the store and one from the manufacturer. It’s a great deal! Target updates their coupons weekly on their website
I absolutely love all the great deals that I get from Target. I also ALWAYS bring my reusable bags because for every bag you bring/use you get 5 cents off your purchase. Sounds like a waste, but seriously when you’re picking up items for super cheap 5 cents can be a lot!

Here is a great Target deal this week that shows how you can use Target coupons with Manufacture coupons:
Benefiber retails for about $6.94 at my Supertarget (38 doses)

Use the target coupon from their website
$3.00 off Benefiber Target Coupon
As well as the manufacturers coupon from the Benefiber website
For a grand total of $5.00 off of your benefiber! In the end you only pay $1.96 for a bottle of benefiber!
